ILLINOIS — The housing market is cooling down a bit, slowing a little from the soaring prices and extremely rapid home sales of just a few months ago. But it’s still a seller’s market in Illinois, even if interest rates are rising slightly.

But how much house can you get for your money? It depends on where you buy from.

According to data from Illinois REALTORS, the median home sale price in the Chicago metro area last month was $325,000, an increase of 4.8% from July 2021.

Here’s a look at what the average sale price gets you, depending on where you’re looking.

Cook County
