For Sale: Double Chairs 1 & 2 at Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort, CA
Unfortunately, in the world of lifts, the double chair is an endangered species. In today’s fast-paced snow industry, speed and efficiency are essential. Unfortunately, double chairs with fixed grips are a thing of the past. Although it’s a timeless classic, some think they don’t cut it anymore.
Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort now gives you the opportunity to own a piece of skiing history. His old armchairs with fixed handles for 2 people are now on sale because a a new triple chairlift is being installed to replace chairlifts 1 and 2. Previously carrying 1,000 people per hour, chairlifts 1 and 2 have certainly performed well, operating since 1970 and 1964 respectively. Those are the perfect relic for that extra touch of ski nostalgia in your yard.
With a little help from a Black Hawk helicopter, the old lifting towers were removed. New towers have been flown in and installation is underway. The new Triple Nugget chairlift will open up lower mountain terrain that previously required access to chairlifts 1 and 2. New Dodge Ridge owners Invision Capital, who bought the resort a year ago, haven’t lost any time to add improvements to the complex.
If you are interested in purchasing one of the old Chairlift 1 & 2 Chairlift Carriers, stock is limited and expected to sell out quickly. All chairs are doubles measuring 42″ wide by 102″ high with a vinyl, slatted or plywood back. Both were made by Riblet Tramway Company in Spokane, Washington, before going out of business in the 90s. Each set will set you back $600 + tax, which comes out to about $643.50. You can buy them over the phone and go to the resort to pick them up. Call them at (209) 965-3474 for more information or email them at [email protected] for photos.
